A walk in the calm woods surrounded by nature is restorative for the mind and body. Dominated with a variety of green and brown hues, the forest interior is encapsulated through the monumental trees, branches, and abundant foliage. The artist invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty and peace of nature suffused with light.
Trained in architecture, Mohammed Zaki iconic themes include nature, flora and fauna, the study of living things, architecture, historical buildings, Malay heritages, and perspectives. His solo exhibition Rupatimur was held at New Straits Times Press in 2006. He has participated in many exhibitions including: The Artists Art Fair Malaysia 2015, Open Malaysia, Balai Seni Lukis Negara 2009, Open Art Exhibition 2019, organised by Shah Alam Art Gallery. His artworks are in the collection of institutions such as Bank Negara Malaysia; Jabatan Perdana Menteri; Kementerian Luar Negeri; Telekom Malaysia; Kementerian Kebudayaan, Kesenian dan Warisan; National Art Gallery Malaysia and Universiti Malaya. Among private institutions who have bought his paintings are Universiti Islam Al Madinah, Citibank, Bank Rakyat, Southern Bank Berhad and Bank Pembangunan.
