Ahmad Shukri Elias' canvases are characterised by an assortment of shapes, rhythmic lines, and bright colours that convey a sense of energy. Gua II is an arresting composition made up of spontaneous gestural marks with traces of the human figure and facial shapes with layers of overlapping forms. Painted with instinct, his works could be read as a form of visual poetry on the reflections of life.
