In Ikatan Kaseh, Dani Omar portrays the folded structures of intricately weaved songket textile with meticulous detail. Through his keen sense of colour and form, Dani's paintings replicate the effect of metallic weave patterns formed by gold colour threads made through a unique weft technique. Wrapped in two close knots, the luxurious and colourful fabric with a subtle sheen is well defined on canvas.
Dani Omar graduated from UiTM with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. He won first place at the Heritage Art Competition in the Oil and Acrylic category in 2019. Dani had his first solo exhibition, A Single Thread Affair, at Taksu Kuala Lumpur in 2023.
