This magnetic composition thrives on the energy of strong movements and the element of change. The artist conveys excitement through this vibrant display of kinetic life movement with great slithers of yellow masses with coloured streaks. Painted with robust brushstrokes, the work exemplifies the artist's continuous exploration of natural forms.
Yusof Ghani's art career started in 1981, when he got a scholarship to study for his BFA at the George Mason University, which he followed up with his MFA at the Catholic University (1983). Before, for 10 years and without formal art education, he had dabbled in various art-related jobs. America was a great eye-opener to him, and when he returned, he lectured at the Mara Institute of Technology. His career highlights include his London debut in 2017, in a solo called Segerak VI - Transcendant Figures, at the Asia House. His series, in chronological order, are Tari, Topeng, Wayang, Hijau, Segerak, Biring, Wajah, Ombak and Kuda. Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers with partners Galeri Prima and Pinkguy Gallery organised Segerak VIII: Utopia, the final edition of Segerak series, in August 2019. In Henry Butcher Art Auction December 2021, his Siri Tari - Zakwan (1987) was sold for a record price of RM 403,200.
