Influenced by his deep interest in comics and cinematic films, Fawwaz Sukri is well loved for his bold, animated paintings. The Sacred Garden borrows elements and symbols derived from Japanese and Western culture. Several tarot cards layered with fish patterns are shown in the background, alluding to how human beings often wonder about their own fate, and considering methods in dealing with the cards being handed. Ultimately destiny is a secret book only we can write for ourselves, through sheer determination and perseverance. A pair of Asian beauties are portrayed in the foreground, accompanied by a large moving octopus, a symbol of adaptability. Fawwaz Sukri had his first solo at the Pace Gallery, now called Nadine Fine Art, in 2014. It was called Saturday Matinee, and he followed up with a two-man show called Narration with Indonesia's Bambang Toko in 2016. He graduated with a BFA, majoring in Painting, from Universiti ITM in 2010, after his diploma at UiTM Lendu, Malacca (2008), both times winning the Vice-Chancellor's Award. He was represented in Art Expo Malaysia in 2014 and 2017, besides Art Kaohsiung (Taiwan) in 2016 and 2017. His second solo exhibition Life Is Wonderful was held at Nadine Fine Art in 2019. His solo showcase in CIMB Artober 2023 received good responses.
