Executed on canvas, Affirmation And Denial displays Zakii's strong command of representing the human form. Zakii's portraits are reflections of the human condition as much as they are extensive explorations of the artist's spiritual and cosmological inquiries of the mind and body. Ahmad Zakii Ahmad made a fairytale switch from a lucrative Advertising career to Fine Art, and hit it big with his early Smokers Series (1997), and following up with a list of stupendous series leading to his mid-career survey exhibition, Disclosure, at Galeri Petronas, Kuala Lumpur, in 2008. He was invited for solos in the United States, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore (Tyler Print), Zakii graduated with a Graphic Design diploma from the Mara Institute of Technology (1977).
