Dr. Caryn Koh is a Malaysian-born medical doctor turned artist based in the United Kingdom. After completing her medical studies, Caryn pursued her passion for the visual arts and graduated from Dasein Academy of Art in Kuala Lumpur, where she was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award in Fine Arts (2017). Caryn is known for her evocative and soulful figurative paintings that centre on the themes of life, emotion, and human connection. Beyond her studio practice, she has created numerous large-scale murals in the UK including in London, Bristol, and Swindon as well as in Malaysia, Spain, Germany, the Philippines, and Yogyakarta. She was also among the artists featured in Portraits for NHS Heroes, organised by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2021). She recently completed a large mural at Warehouse D4, Northport Distripark Sdn Bhd in 2025. Her artistic achievements have earned her several accolades, including the Cancer Research Malaysia Mask Design Winner (2020), Psychology In Seattle Artist Grant (2020), and 2nd Place in the Printmaking Category at the Tanjong Heritage Competition (2016). Caryn has showcased her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions locally and abroad. Her solo exhibitions include Vessels at G13 Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (2023); Within These Walls at Mams Gallery, Swindon, United Kingdom (2020); Bonds at Titikmerah Collective, Kuala Lumpur (2019); and As Deep As I Could Remember, As Far As I Could See at Artemis Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (2018). She has also participated in recent group exhibitions such as Titikmerah: Individuals / Collective at Temu House (2024), and Everything Changed, Nothing Changed at Temu House, Selangor (2021).
