The East Coast series was created from Tony's explorations of the coastal areas of East Coast Malaysia. The Time Has Come is the painter's imagination of a father going to sea from a child's point of view. There are toys left by children in fishing nets keeping areas. The composition contains dense fishing nets like a vast ocean, accompanied with ornate batik drapery echoing soft waves. It also hints at the notion of time, where small fishing boats are moving slowly at sea. There are giant monsters on top and strange seaweeds beneath, alluding to the challenges at sea and fishing, representing the bravery and responsibility of the father. The heroic and devoted status of the father was pictured through a child's mind.
