Khairudin delves into the exploration of new medium in his portrayal of local citizens skilfully etched onto photo printed aluminium. The bustling urban city is presented as a living entity, in which people are free to move, seek career opportunities and have access to education. Juxtaposed against purple and red tones of high-rise buildings and city streets, it features the encounters of individuals crossing paths with each other.
Khairudin had few solo exhibitions up to date, including Ambivalence held in July 2021 at G13 gallery. Besides actively participating in various group exhibitions locally, his works have been exhibited at numerous art fairs such as Art Expo Malaysia, Art Stage Singapore, Art Taipei, Art Kaohsiung, and Bazaar Art Jakarta. His complex figurative composition with lines often captivates the audiences. His recent works are inspired by his exposure and experiences abroad. Selected group exhibitions include Mending Fence: A Tales From An Isolation (2020), Mihrab (2019), Face Value (2018), Young Guns 2017, HOM Art Trans, Publika (2017), The Practitioners, Segaris Art Centre (2016), Young Malaysian Artists III, Galeri Petronas (2016).
