Description
Danielle Lin is a multidisciplinary creative primarily working in the visual art industry as a fine artist and curator. She combines Renaissance-inspired imagery with whimsical, ethereal motifs in her paintings that aim to uplift audiences whilst living in a dystopian world.
Since her formal education in the Malaysian Institute of Art, Danielle has exhibited widely both locally and internationally. Her works have been featured in art shows and fairs in Thailand, Cyprus, the Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong. She runs an art studio in GMBB and has curated local art exhibitions independently since 2022. In 2025, she founded Primary Exhibitions, a curating initiative that redefines the borders of contemporary exhibitions. Her greatest curating endeavor in 2026 was Untitled, a 127-artist group show with 329 works taking up the whole of Level 5 in GMBB from May to June.
The Rejection was inspired by the feeling of rejection, where all seems hopeless yet a sliver of hope remains. In the painting, a girl lies dejectedly on an angel’s lap, while an envelope lies on the ground just out of her reach. Rejections are part and parcel of life, be it romantic or professional, and are often dealt with in private. This painting aims to resonate with people who feel downhearted, and remind us that there is always hope after heartbreak.
