My practice is grounded in drawing, approached through systems of simple rules, repeated gestures, and gradual accumulation. Growing up in a busy city shaped my sensitivity to small rhythms, attention, and the slowing of time. Through marking, layering, and repetition, I create works that record labour, duration, and sustained focus. Repeated actions allow subtle variations to emerge between conscious control and automation. I primarily work with pencil and paper for their simplicity and ability to register pressure and repetition. While rooted in drawing, my practice extends into materials such as clay, carrying the same concerns with system, accumulation, attention, and time.
soul that repeats — polarity explores the coexistence of opposing forces through repetition, structure, and controlled movement. Two distinct visual forces respond to one another through contrast and spatial tension, suggesting attraction and resistance coexist simultaneously. Repetition establishes a measured rhythm, while polarity creates a sense of balance between opposing states. The work reflects the idea that different forces can exist simultaneously, maintaining their own identity while shaping the space between them.
