join their effort for a good cause.
Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur - JH Italia, the sole authorized dealer of Automobili Lamborghini in Malaysia, are putting their supercars to a good cause through art in conjunction with Art Expo Malaysia 2012. Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur are presenting a fringe event to the public, embodying their uncompromising dedication to passion and their willingness to fuel the blooming Malaysian Contemporary Malaysian art scene.
They commission Gustavo Charif, the famed Argentine artist, to create a painting evoking The Lamborghini Experience, in their 3S centre in Glenmarie (Shah Alam). Charif is presently an artist - in - resident in Malaysia and choosing him strengthens the idea that art and style appreciation is enriched by experiencing the creativity of different cultures.
Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers is honoured to be the Official Auctioneer to join efforts in raising funds for a good cause by selling this painting with no commission taken. The sale proceeds will be used to buy books to be donated to the Resource Centre of the National Visual Arts Gallery.
On October 5th and 6th, the public was invited to the Lamborghini Showroom to observe Charif create the art work Lamborghini Odyssey featuring the Lamborghini Aventador an experience and how lifestyle and art blend.
The whole project coordinated by the fast growing art promoting firm Fuman Art (www.fumanart.com) who will also ensure that the proceeds of the auction are spent efficiently.
About Gustavo Charif
Born in 1966 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he lives and works, Gustavo Charif is a prominent mid career artist, very active in fine arts, music & filmmaking. His creative journey has taken him around the world where his works have been shown in exhibitions, side by side with Dalí, René Magritte, Juan Miró amongst others.
His work is part of prestigious collections in Argentina, Europe and the USA (Burrus, Einaudi, Elía-Robirosa, Fortabat, Pescheux, Stradella Bianch and many more) and was recently added to a prestigious private collection in Singapore.
The Embassy of Argentina and Air France/KLM are sponsoring Charif’s stay in Malaysia for 3 months to study the culture, interact with the local art scene and prepare a series of works on the Sejarah Melayu.
